New Haus New Hausmates :)

Last April 15 I officially relocated to Clementi..
just 15 mins away from my previous apartment which is in Dover..


Kinda sucks in a way, because in Dover it's only 1 bus stop away from
the office.. so I usually get-up around 8 am.. and left the apt around 8:30
arrived at my desk around 8:45 - 9 am..

But that's the only sucky part in my new Apt the rest is pretty cool..:

1. Lots of options..
Though right now I usually wake up around 7:30 am..
left the block at 8 am... take a bus #175/189 across the street...
then get off in the Clementi MRT station..
then take another bus #52/154/184 to work..

see I got multiple bus number to choose from..
and they usually got 2-5 mins interval with each other..
so if the previous bus num# is already full i can easily..
try the other bus..
unlike in my prevous apt.. I only got 1 option...
that dreaded bus #74 if I missed it in 8:15 am..
the next #74 will arrived at 8:45 :(

2. Free Bus Ride :)
If I'm lucky and arrived at the Clementi MRT station at 8:30 am..
I got a free ride on our shuttle.. :)
it's actually a school bus for the teachers/students/school staffs :P

3. Pinoy Food galore..
One thing I missed in my prev apt was the pinoy foods..
hehe.. cooking is not really my cup-of-tea..
and i'm not seeing it from becoming one in 5 yrs :P...
but here... everyone knows how to cook..
and we had decided to share on the groceries..
'coz it's cheaper to cook than to order food..
so goodbye.. tuna/noodles diet...

i mean the cook is pretty nice and tasty...
its like I finally tasted home-cooked sinigang & adobo in Singapore...
but the end of it all.. i felt really guilty..
they just noticed.. that I don't eat a lot..
and I'm always the last one to finish my plate..
i just tell them...
"sorry nde na kc me sanay kumain ng marame..
and mag rice.. you know naman na tuna lng tinitira ko before :P"
but the thing is... everytime i ate dinner with them..
i usually think of my wieght.. kinda like cursing..
every spoonful of rice that I ate..

i think i'm gaining some weight nga.. :(
i think i stand around 142 lbs before i moved in..
now i'm hitting 145.. small increase.. but i know if this dinner/pinoy food galore..
continues.. i'll be back on my own physique again :(

4. Nice hausmates :),
right now we're 4 in the flat..
2 of us guys in a room, and 2 chix in the other room..
there should be 3 chix in the other room, but the owner didn't allow her
to moved in because she haven't found any job in here yet, and she's in tourist visa..
you need to have a valid Working permit in order for you to rent a place..
that's the law.. some really didn't follow it.. but the owner is too afraid
to loose her place if she break it that's why she insisted the other one not to move in yet...

Ed (roommate)
A Chem Eng Mapua Grad :)...
feels nice talking to a schoolmate..
though our experiences in mapua were ages apart..
hehehe... he's a batch 1993 and I'm 1999 :P
anyways... he's a family man btw..
his family is in the phil...
not sure when they are planning to migrate here..
but he's a pretty cool hausmate..
Mr. Fix-It... he fixed our lavatory, strip down the
smelly-old-fart chairs... sorry the owner is a 80+ yr old woman..
so all the stuffs in the flat are all smells like hell...
and it's her first time to put her place for rent since she needs a lot of money
for her foot... she can't hardly walk... signs of old age..

oh yeah he's a great cook..
since his work is at 7am-5pm..
he usually take care of our dinner..

Beth (hausmate)
hmm forgot what she took in college..
but she supposed to be in the same field as I am...
hmm I think she finished an IT course..
oh crap already forgot about that.. hehehe...
btw. she also have a family in phil..
actually she got 2 kids and her husband which is taking care of them..
I won't forget when the first time she told me about her family..
she keep on saying:
"pero mabait naman un, kahit wala xang work"...
I was like
"nyek.. defensive mo naman.. wala naman ako cnasabe regarding s hubby mo.. :P
kc nde ko naman xa kilala.. xaka as long as inaalagaan nya anak nyo.. oks na un :)"

here's something interesting..
when they itroduced me to the owner..
they told her that I'm her cousin..
because the owner didn't want any strangers..
to stay with the 2 girls..
actually the owner bought that...
after I left the apt to visit my so-called-cousin..
the owner immediately told her to ask
me to move in to them :)
so the saying is true..
"na kilabot ako ng mga gurang" :(..
actually there's only one truth on that...
"malakas sex appeal ng mga balbasero ..
kahit me edad na bibingwit :P"
they usually joke on asking me to seduce the owner..
so I can inherit the apt from her in case something happened to her :P
so after all the cousin thing...
we still call each other as "insan" :)

Karla (hausmate)

a Civil Eng and Env Sanitary Eng grad in UST...
ahhhhhh... double degree...
first time i heard of this.. i blurted out..
"corny naman buhay mo puro aral :P"....
another great cook :)
she takes care of the bills/groceries...
and divide the expenses to us...
a very responsible person..
what do you expect she's the breadwinner in her family..
so she knows it all.. all the household chores/budget stuffs...

sometimes it kinda suck..
'coz I end-up looking a spoiled-rich-brat :(
but I always try to help them...
hehehehe.. "ume-effort :P"
like when I arrived earlier from the rest of the gang..
immediatelly display my rice cooking abilities..
with the help of the rice cooker of course :P
"nde ko kaya pag s stove eh.. either sunog or lugaw labas nya"..
then text them..
"hausm8s & insan luto na po ako kanin...
xempre alang ulam.. hanggang kanin lng kaya ko eh :P.. "

gadgets are created to make life easier...
not to turn everyone a fucktards...

one of the easiest exercise..
i mean you won't realize that you're burning fats..
through walking... now.. this shit will take that away...
so all the futuristic movies wherein almost all people are thin and fit
will be scrapped out.. and everyone will have their own versions
of Java the Hut :P


Cosmetic Surgery...

why work for it if you got the money?
you might say why not?...
IMO.. i don't care if you shit gold coins every morning..
and have a surgery to get those 6 packs...
common... 6 packs = chix ryt???
but surgical 6 packs also equals to..
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles' shell in your tummy..
plus a un proportional body...

Just realized this while browsing your blog there's a background music that automatically play..
kinda annoying... (sorry).. especially for those who browse the web while listening to their fave playlists..
I was like.... where the hell did that came from??!!! :P
When I attached music to sites that I create I usually make sure that people who browse will have a choice
to either to listen to it or simply ignore.. i think it aint hard setting the autoplay to OFF.. on the mediaplayerobject :)..

Colors

This is just a small hiccup.. you don't need to modify this but pretty cool if done eh :)
the blog catalog & chat box colors are kinda overlaps the background colors..
shet! ang hirap explain eto na nga..
ung color kc nila like green and orange.. unlike sa background they are light green & orange
i think astig kung ung color nila will blend s background like both will have lighter colors :)

iTouch

I am so drooling on my new iTouch :)
can't last a day without tweaking it..
i even memorized the detailed stuffs i did:

03/23 Sunday:
Bouth my iTouch from Suntec's Apple Center..
Can't calm myself from seeing that it got $100 discount..
originally from $600+ it's now down to $500...
so widraw my savings without hesitating even if it's just
a 1st Gen.. I was like WTF!... the only 2 diff on those 2 gens..
is that the latest has a Mail/Weather/Google maps built in application..
and why the hell do I need that.. I got my laptop..
to check my emails or just browse through iTouch's
Safari browser for my gmail/weather/Google maps...

Also bought some leather strap..
so I strap it on my gigantious biceps.. hehe...
while working out :)

03/24 Monday:
Load all my mp3s & pics
from my external harddisk :(
so my 16GB is now down to 500MB :)..
i'll try to find some iPod back up software..
'coz i lost all my songs when my 20GB 1st Gen iPod
had crashed :(..
I was so proud of that iPod..
all my songs were organize...
and a huge compilation of OPM songs...


03/25 Tuesday:
Goodbye warranty...
it's jailbreak time!!! woot!!!...
by default all the apps were so so...
i need to put some games such as emulators and TTR of course..
so carefully dug up youtube for instructional clips..
I need to do this carefully. or I'll lost my songs again :(


03/26 Wednesday:
installed Tap Ta Revolution..
one of the greates 3rd party game ever created...




installed SNes & GBA emulators too..

installed WinSCP on my laptop...
this is a tool to manually send roms to my SNes and GBA emulator..


03/27 Thursday:
kind of being used in using my iTouch
during the workout..
at first its kinda weird having this huge
iTouch slapped in my bicep..
but in te long run.. you'll get used to it..
i just try to cover it with the sleeve on my tShirt..
don't want to look too smog about it :)


03/28 Friday:
I can't get my GBA phone worked :(
did everything on the web..
still it can't read my roms..




03/29 Saturday:
TTR is acting weird...
so changed the permission of the whole folder..
including all the files to 777....
this will have the system all access rights on the TTR files..

btw.. my iTouch is now using

Finally finished arringing my playlists
and removing songs that i don't have a clue :)
i do now got 2 GB of free space.. woot!!!

Movie Marathon

Last weekend watched 3 movies in just a day...
hehehe.. wla kcng magawa pag weekend..

i'm definitely a huge Al Pacino junkie...
from Scarface... Mafia.. to Any Given Sunday..

the movie is pretty good actually..
it made me thinking he convicted the wrong guy..
and might be loosing his mind..
didn't know that he's the one who's killing
all the chix.. hehe.. talk about Johnny Depp's
Secret Window :P

one of the huge plus in the movie..
were the hawt chix xempre.. hehehe :P

but on a serious note..
it's very troubling that they seeing from this movie..
they can convict a guy without any tangible/strong evidence..
but only from a persuasive argument of a forensic psychiatrists..
WTF is a forensic psychiatrists???
they interpret the scene?.. get in the mind of a criminal..
but all of them were just like what ifs...
nothing still beats the physical evidence??
what if??... just for a argument stake..
they got the wrong guy.. he's just in there..
on the wrong place at the wrong time..
and all coincidental stuffs points at him...

another zombie movie...
kinda boring..
even if it's 28 weeks/days..
there would be 1 outcome in here..
they will bite the asses of the mankind on that freaking
place...

Who is paoix? And why is he doing this?
I am a 26 yr old Filipino living in the NYC area.
I’ve really just come across my passion for learning about food and in particular Filipino food in the last few of years.
In 2005, I moved in the NYC area to start my professional career and have been enjoying the New York lifestyle ever since.
One thing that got me really thinking is that in the greatest restaurant city in the US if not the world Filipino food is nowhere on the map.
The population of Filipinos compared to Thai people in the US is so much more yet there’s a Thai place every two blocks and I can count on one hand the number of Filipino restaurants.
Why doesn’t anyone know about Filipino food? So as part of my conquest to educate everyone I know about Filipino food, I have to educate myself.
For 2008, I’m going to learn about 1 Filipino dish per week. Research it.
Try to know as much about it as I can.
And of course cook it and eat it! I would love for you to come join me in my quest to learn as much as I can about Filipino food and in the hopes that one day I may be able to teach other people about it.
